In short:

You download the benchmark, unpack it, follow the directions in the README.txt file and run the trail file on your own computer with Pro/ENGINEER.
Count the results with the count utility.
Send the results to me by sending the time stamps to my web-based count tool.

What does the trail file do?

It opens the generic part and assembly (consisting of many instances of the part) and does many repeated actions on both and on a created drawing of the assembly. In between each repetition of tasks a time stamp is created.

Which tests are performed?

Requirements:

  • Normal version:
    • RAM minimum 1.5Gb
    • Available disk space: 450 Mb
  • 64bit version:
    • RAM minimum 6Gb
    • Available disk space: 2.5Gb
    • 64-bit Operating System and Pro/E Software
  • Pro/E: Wildfire 2.0, Wildfire 3.0 or Wildfire 4.0
  • Runtime: Anywhere between 30 minutes and several hours

Version 5.1 consists of:
  • a part,
  • three assemblies
  • a template drawing
  • benchmark trail files:

  • configuration files: config.pro, config.win, ocusb5.scl, ocus_tree.cfg
  • the README file with the instructions.
  • For Windows users the countocus5.exe count utility has been added.
  • For Linux/Unix users the script countocus5.csh to count the results has been added.

  • 20090507 5.1a Release with countocus5 v5.0-5 fixes two counting problems.
  • 20081026 5.1 Added WF4 trailfiles. countocus5 now also supports WF4.
  • 20080229 5.0b Minor change: countocus5 v5.0-3 now supports 1 second test results for Open Large Assembly test.
