The OCUS Benchmark v5 Compare WF3 vs. WF4

Results of running the OCUS Benchmark v5 with Wildfire 3.0 and Wildfire 4.0.

I ran the Wildfire 3.0 and Wildfire 4.0 trail files of the OCUS benchmark v5 on several computers and windows versions.

Overall results

These OCUS Benchmark v5 results show how the overall performance of Pro/E Wildfire 4.0 M040 is better than Wildfire 3.0 M170 (on this specific workstation). Only the normal benchmark when run on a 64bit configuration is a bit slower.
WF4 excels in assembly retrieval (which is a lot of instance regeneration stuff), IGES export and Postscript export. WF4 32bit is also a lot faster with some of the other drawing mode tests. There are a few tests though which are much slower: jpeg creation and shade calculations. PTC is currently looking into these issues.

The following graph shows the RAM usage in Kb for each release at startup of Pro/E and at the end of the OCUS Benchmark v5
Wildfire 4.0 uses about the same amount of memory as Wildfire 3.0 does.
